To get our state back on track, we need a comprehensive budget-balancing solution that puts middle class families first by focusing on the right priorities:
Keep and Create Good-Paying Jobs that Build a Future
Minnesota has the opportunity, and people power, to fix our economy and get back on track. We can’t afford to have folks out of work when so much can be done to improve Minnesota’s schools, roads, and energy efficiency.. Let’s invest in the things that build–not tear down–our economy for the long term.
Provide All Minnesotans Access to Health Care
There’s never been a better time than now for a public health insurance option, NOT linked to employment, to reduce the short- and long-term health care costs that are strangling our state. Let’s give Minnesotans the freedom to change jobs without fearing the loss of health care coverage and keep those who lose their jobs covered.
Create a Fair Tax Structure
Our tax system needs to be fixed – and fixed fairly. If everyone in Minnesota contributes their fair share, we can protect our schools, fix our roads, keep families healthy and safe to build for a secure future.
Keep Minnesota Families In Their Homes
Our communities are safer, more stable and better when struggling families can stay in their homes. Let’s give families the chance to get on their feet before kicking them out.
Enforce Corporate Accountability
Too much has been given to corporations that have cared too little about following the rules. It’s time for corporate America to step up – business is better when schools are good, roads are fixed and communities are safe.
With a budget using the recipe above, and some work, we can get our state back on track.
